SENIOR SW ENGINEER, SHORT RANGE AND MESH

About the Job:
We are recruiting talented and experienced senior software engineers to join the Software Group in R&D to further develop Nordic Semiconductor’s world-leading short-range and mesh protocol stacks. The roles can be tailored depending on your skills and experience.

You will be working on design and implementation of all layers of the wireless protocol firmware and with on the next generation open source Mesh IoT devices and Low Energy products. We implement in C on ARM Cortex CPUs. Our embedded software solutions are built around the Zephyr RTOS and a lot of our software is publicly available on GitHub. You will work in a smaller scrum team, as a part of a large group of experienced and competent embedded SW, short-range and mesh radio engineers. We strive every day to improve our ways of working and exchange best practices. You will have opportunities to work in close co-operation with leading customers worldwide and take part in open-source software development with partners.

Responsibilities:
-Designing, coding, testing, and documenting new Short Range and Mesh wireless protocols and models.
-Porting and integrating protocol software on new generation of Nordic SoC and hardware platforms
-Analyze, debug and improve our extensive set of automated tests executed every day in Continuous Integration
-Take part in standardization work and interoperability testing
-Provide support to Nordic’s Technical Support and Field Application Engineers

Required Education, Experience and Skills:
-B. Sc. or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar
-C/C++ micro-controller programming experience
-Experience in debugging embedded software and systems
-Experience in distributed version control (Git or similar)
-Good written and spoken English communication skills
-Good co-operation skills

It is also beneficial if you have:
-Experience in development of some of industry standard wireless protocol such as Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-SUN, 802.15.4, Cellular, Wi-Fi or similar
-Experience in developing solutions for Low Power IoT device deployments managed from Cloud
-Experience in Python programming
-Experience wth ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
-Experience in open source software development
-Experience developing device drivers for hardware such as UART, SPI, timers, or NVM
-Experience in cryptography, key management, or certificate management
-Experience and interest in network architecture and large mesh network deployments
